We utilize Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Decentralized Web Nodes (DWNs) to ensure that your personal data remains under your exclusive control. The Council provides the infrastructure for you to prove your creditworthiness without surrendering your private information to a centralized authority.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

By architectural design, the Weritas Council does not collect or store:

• Your Government-issued ID numbers (SSN, Passport, etc.).
• Your raw bank statements or transaction histories.
• Your biometric data.
• Your private keys or seed phrases.

3. Information We May Collect

We only collect the minimum data necessary to operate the website and the Council’s governance functions:

• Governance Data: If you participate in the Weritas DAO, we record your public wallet address and voting history on the blockchain (BNB Smart Chain).
• Communication Data: If you contact us via our "Institutional Inquiry" form, we collect your name, professional email, and the contents of your inquiry to respond to your request.
• Technical Metadata: We may collect anonymous technical data (e.g., browser type, IP address) to maintain website security and optimize performance.

4. How Information is Used

The limited data we collect is used strictly for:

• Ecosystem Stewardship: Managing DAO proposals and governance transparency.
• Institutional Engagement: Responding to partnership and infrastructure inquiries.
• Legal Compliance: Meeting our statutory obligations as a BVI non-profit entity.

5. Data Sharing & Third Parties

The Weritas Council does not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We may share limited information with:

• Regulated Partners: Only at your explicit request when you choose to interface your Pulse Score™️ with a licensed lender.
• Service Providers: Trusted third parties who assist in operating our website or conducting our business, provided they agree to keep this information confidential.
• Legal Necessity: If required by law to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process in the British Virgin Islands.

6. Your Rights & Data Sovereignty

Because our system is built on Web5 standards, you have the ultimate "Right to be Forgotten":

• Data Portability: You can move your Pulse Score™️ Verifiable Credential (VC) to any other compatible wallet at any time.
• Revocation of Access: You can revoke a third party’s access to your Decentralized Web Node (DWN) instantly through your WERI Wallet.
• Access and Correction: You may request to review any communication data we hold about you by contacting our privacy officer.

7. Security of Information

We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including encryption and secure socket layers (SSL), to protect the information under our control. However, the ultimate security of your assets and identity rests on your protection of your private keys.

8. Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal, privacy-respecting analytics to understand website traffic. We do not use intrusive cross-site tracking or "shadow profiles." You can set your browser to refuse all cookies, though some parts of the site may not function perfectly.

9. International Transfers

As a BVI entity, your data may be processed in jurisdictions outside of your home country. By using our site, you consent to this transfer, provided that the data is handled with the protections outlined in this policy.
