Please read these Terms of Use (“Terms”) carefully before accessing or using the website, governance portal, or any resources provided by Weritas Council Limited (“the Council,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing the site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must cease use of the site immediately.
1. Nature of the Weritas Council
The Weritas Council is a non-profit foundation company incorporated in the British Virgin Islands. The Council serves as the independent steward of the Weritas Protocol ecosystem.
- Technology Disclaimer: The Council does not operate, control, or maintain the underlying software, lending interfaces, or commercial applications (the "Technology") developed by independent third parties.
- No Beneficial Ownership: The Council is a non-profit entity with no beneficial owners and operates solely for the advancement of the Weritas ecosystem.
2. Eligibility and Jurisdictional Restrictions
The services provided by the Council, including access to the Weritas DAO and the $WRTH token, are not intended for distribution to, or use by, any person in any jurisdiction where such use would be contrary to local law.
- Prohibited Jurisdictions: Access is strictly prohibited for residents of, or persons located in, the United States, Canada, and any jurisdictions sanctioned by the BVI, UK, or UN.
- VPN Policy: Using a Virtual Private Network (VPN) or other circumvention tools to bypass territorial restrictions is a material violation of these Terms.
3. No Financial or Investment Advice
The content on this website is for informational purposes only.
- Not a Security: $WRTH is a functional utility token. It does not represent equity, debt, or a profit-sharing interest.
- No Advice: Nothing on this site constitutes financial, legal, or investment advice. You are solely responsible for determining whether any interaction with the protocol is appropriate for you based on your personal objectives and risk tolerance.
4. Decentralized Governance (The Weritas DAO)
Participation in the Weritas DAO is a technical activity.
- In-Process Incorporation: You acknowledge that the Weritas DAO is currently in the formal process of legal incorporation.
- Assumption of Risk: Governance involves technical risks, including smart contract vulnerabilities and economic volatility. By voting or proposing, you assume all risks associated with decentralized decision-making.
- No Agency: Participation in the DAO does not create a partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between you and the Council.
5. Intellectual Property and Web5 Sovereignty
- Council Property: The Weritas name, logo, and the Pulse Score™️ methodology are the intellectual property of the Council or its licensors.
- User Sovereignty: In accordance with Web5 standards, you retain ownership of the Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Verifiable Credentials (VCs) stored in your Decentralized Web Node (DWN). The Council does not claim ownership over your sovereign data.
6. Prohibited Activities
Users agree not to:
- Use the site for money laundering, terrorist financing, or any illegal activity.
- Attempt to interfere with the proper working of the protocol or the DAO voting mechanism.
- Exploit smart contract vulnerabilities or engage in "governance attacks."
- Reverse-engineer any aspect of the site or the underlying Pulse Score™️ algorithms without authorization.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by BVI law, the Weritas Council shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or funds ($WRTH or other digital assets), arising out of or in connection with your use of the protocol or the website.
The Technology is provided "AS IS" without warranties of any kind.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Weritas Council, its directors, and officers from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Weritas Protocol.
9. Modifications to the Terms
The Council reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the site following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
10. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the British Virgin Islands. Any disputes arising out of these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the British Virgin Islands.
